Effective April 1, 2004, Dr. Patricia A. Book, Associate Vice President for Outreach at the Pennsylvania State University, joined the University of Georgia and the National Clearinghouse for the Scholarship of Engagement as a visiting scholar. In addition to successfully directing Penn State's $28 million continuing education enterprise, Dr. Book works extensive through the Penn State Faculty Senate, specifically the Senate Committee on Outreach, to develop policies for strengthening university outreach across the 12 academic colleges and faculties as well as across Cooperative Extension and 24 campus colleges and centers statewide. While a visiting scholar, Pat brings her expertise, experience and talents to examining, among other topics, institution level accountability and accreditation processes that feature engagement.
